We would like to inform you of a change that—like many other small and medium-sized online retailers in the EU—is forcing us to take action.
What’s Happening
Starting August 12, 2026, the new EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR) will take effect. It requires that any company shipping goods directly to consumers in another EU country must appoint its own “authorized representative” in that country—at its own expense—and register with a separate national registry for each individual country. There is no exception for smaller companies like ours: even a single package would be enough to trigger this obligation.
For a company of our size, it is simply not economically feasible to maintain our own authorized representatives, registrations, and disposal licenses in multiple countries at the same time. The administrative and financial burden would be completely out of proportion to our international business, which is directed at private customers. For example: Even the delivery of a spare key (item value approx. 6.50 euros) triggers an annual registration fee of 300–500 euros per EU country.
Our Decision
Effective immediately, we will only ship directly to private customers at addresses within Germany.

We will continue to supply our retailers as usual—all orders (including replacement parts) can be processed through our retailers.
This is not a decision against our customers abroad
Quite the contrary: We would very much like to continue delivering directly throughout the EU. However, the new regulation hits small businesses disproportionately hard, while large platforms and corporations can more easily shoulder the bureaucratic burden. We are not alone in this—thousands of small retailers across the EU are currently facing exactly the same decision.
There are efforts underway in the European Parliament to at least provide relief for SMEs; an initial vote on this is scheduled for October 5, 2026. We are closely monitoring developments and will resume international shipping as soon as a workable solution is in place.
