In an independent evaluation process, numerous products are assessed in terms of e.g. benefits, quality, functionality, design, sustainability and recommendation. The BackBox, an innovative rear box from mft transport systems in Ilshofen, is the “Germany’s Favorite 2024” winner in the mobility category and was rated “GOOD”.
You see it more and more often on the road: instead of a roof box, a rear box is mounted onto the vehicle. Transportation on the towbar offers a number of advantages over storage space on the car roof. A rear box is much easier to load than overhead. The car’s center of gravity is not raised, which has a positive effect on driving stability. And finally, the air resistance is not affected as much at the rear,
than on the roof – which results in lower fuel consumption.
These arguments probably also convinced the more than 4,000 consumers who take part in the Deutschland Favorit evaluation process every year. “When we found out that we were one of this year’s winners, we were naturally delighted,” says Gloria Bohn, who is the second generation to run the family business. According to Bohn, the BackBox is part of the future of mobility, especially for e-vehicles, where every kilometer of range counts. “This is great feedback and confirms that we are absolutely on the right track with our BackBox.”
Last year, the BackBox took first place in the test of rear boxes conducted by the consumer portal IMTEST and came out on top across the board against competitors Thule, Westfalia and Narauto.
The company mft transport systems from Ilshofen has been developing, producing and selling transport systems for towbars since 1992. In addition to rear boxes, the company also offers innovative bicycle carriers.
